Diablo III pour très bientôt

Décidément Blizzard a plus d'un tour dans son sac! Qui aurait pu croire qu'après plus de 10 ans, ils aient décidé de donner une fonction à la gemme de Battle.net? Et quelle fonction! En effet, plusieurs joueurs (merci à Girvain et KF-Hulm pour leurs MP!) ont eu la surprise de voir apparaître le message suivant en cliquant sur la fameuse pierre précieuse:

Moooooooh! Lucky you, by clicking on the battle.net gem, you have been selected to participate to the Diablo 3 beta test. All informations will be send to the email adress associated to this battle.net account.

La mystérieuse gemme des forums américains vient donc de livrer son secret, et nous révèle un imminent beta test pour le jeu que nous attendons tous! Voici une copie de l'email en question:

You have been selected to participate in the beta test of Diablo 3® : Welcome!

In the beta test you will get an opportunity to play the new Blizzard game, the barbarian and witch-doctor hero class. We look forward to your feedback on the overall experience, including quests, monsters, zones, aesthetics, and more. We would also appreciate reports on any bugs you may encounter. These can be logged using the /bug command explained below.

Getting started:

In order to participate in the beta test, you must upgrade an existing retail account which has been upgraded with Diablo 2 Lord of Destruction®, allowing you to connect to the Diablo 3® test realms. The Diablo 2 Lord of Destruction® game client that you use must be patched up to version 1.12b in order to download the beta test client.

Go to http://xxxxxxxxxxx to download the installer, and copy character(s) to our test realms.

Please be prepared to enter the current retail Diablo 2® account name and password you use, and the appropriate beta code listed below to authenticate your eligibility to connect to the Diablo 3® test realms. To participate in the beta tests, you must have a valid retail Diablo 2 Lord of Destruction® account active and in good standing as of May 1st, 2009.

Below is a beta code that will allow you to create the Diablo 3® account you use to play ont the test realm. Each beta code can be used only once.

Troubleshooting:

If you experience any difficulties installing the beta game client, or have problems connecting to the test servers, please contact Technical Support either by posting on the appropriate forum at http://xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx or by email at xxxxxxxxx@blizzard.com. Please remember that this software is still undergoing development, so any in-game issues should be reported using the /bug feature.

Pourtant, il y a quelques mois, une rumeur de sortie prochaine avait été démentie par Blizzard. De plus Paul Sams devait déclarer qu'un seul jeu sortirait en 2009:

"Which title is being released this year, we're not saying." - Paul Sams

Il était donc probable que StarCraft II sortirait en 2009, avant Diablo III. Mais c'est donc bien le contraire qui semble se préciser!

La gemme de Battle.net permet donc de gagner des places pour le beta test de Diablo III. Pour combien de temps encore, personne ne le sait, alors dépêchez-vous!
